The Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore has approved the physical remand of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Imran Khan is accused of orchestrating a criminal conspiracy utilizing advanced technological devices. The charges come in the wake of allegations that he incited his supporters to assault military installations if he were arrested.
Under Judge Khalid Arshad, the court issued a written directive on May 9th, sanctioning Khan’s physical remand about 12 distinct cases. During the proceedings, the investigating officer argued the necessity of remanding by highlighting the need for voice matching, polygraphic, and photogrammetric testing to substantiate the charges.
In a recent court session conducted via a WhatsApp video call, Khan defended himself by questioning the absence of comprehensive footage from the events of May 9th, asserting his innocence and challenging the rationale behind the apologies demanded of him.
Subsequently, the court has mandated a 10-day physical remand for Khan and scheduled a follow-up appearance via video link on July 25th, continuing the legal proceedings surrounding these serious allegations.
