Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has asked that party members holding governmental roles resign.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja intends to empower Junaid Akbar, the newly appointed president of PTI’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter, to reorganize the party structure effectively.
Raja shared this update with journalists after a visit to Adiala Jail, where Khan is currently held. He reassured the public of Khan’s health, dispelling concerns about his well-being. During his incarceration, Khan intends to address issues within the prison system and its management by “unseen forces” in a forthcoming letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.

Additionally, Raja addressed PTI’s stance on contentious issues in Sindh, particularly opposition to dam construction, reinforcing the party’s commitment to advocate for the rights of Sindh’s residents. He emphasized PTI’s readiness to engage with all national institutions to tackle these challenges, especially in the wake of the 26th Constitutional Amendment’s controversial adoption.

Khan’s concerns also extended to sports, particularly cricket, as Raja noted Khan’s disappointment with Pakistan’s recent performance in the ICC Champions Trophy. The former prime minister, a cricket icon himself, is deeply affected by the national team’s struggles, reflecting the country’s strong emotional ties to the sport.
