On Thursday, Imran Khan, the Chairman of PTI, expressed strong disapproval of the attack on military facilities, suggesting that the PDM is trying to marginalize PTI in political discourse by inciting discord between the military and the opposition party.
Following the intensifying clampdown on PTI in response to the May 9 violence, Khan, a former prime minister, emphasized that his party has no quarrels with the governing authorities.
In his first press conference after an arrest that ignited nationwide riots, the former prime minister announced he wasn’t engaging in any dialogue since he had made it clear that discussions should focus exclusively on election-related matters.
“I have no issues with the authorities, but I’m unclear why they are displeased with me,” remarked Khan when questioned.

Khan reiterated his assertion that the PDM was scheming to remove PTI from the political scene with the military’s assistance, a move he deemed perilous to the nation’s stability, potentially triggering a situation reminiscent of Pakistan’s fragmentation in 1971. “If anyone contends with its military, the nation is set for downfall,” he added.
Khan also commented on the defections within PTI, expressing empathy for the leaders who resigned from PTI “under duress” amid the escalating suppression.
Thursday saw Malik Amin Aslam depart from Khan’s party. Uncertain of their return, Khan didn’t affirm whether he would welcome these leaders back.

However, Khan lauded the PTI leaders who held their ground, expressing that the “nation will commemorate their resilience in resisting coercive tactics.” “Having remained unyielding even after two attempted assassinations, I am undeterred by any intimidation and will persist in advocating for genuine freedom, even if I stand alone,” he declared.
