Imran had his black money whitened during Musharraf era: Rana Sanaullah

Lahore: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah took to task PTI chief Imran Khan in a series of statements while speaking to media personnel on Friday.

Rana Sanaullah further said that Imran Khan is included among those people who had to whiten their black money whitened during the Musharraf era.

“Imran Khan took benefit of the Amnesty Scheme during Musharraf’s regime. How can he then ask others for justifications?” he asked. “How can he ask the people to choose him as a leader?”

He said peaceful protests were the beauty of democracy whereas dharnas (sit-in protests) were a curse. Rana Sanaullah also dismissed PTI’s public rally to be held in Faisalabad. “They (PTI) have no presence in Faisalabad,” he said. “They were trounced in the 2013 general elections and also suffered defeat in the local bodies elections,” he added.

Referring to recent incidents of women being abused in PTI’s rallies, Rana Sanaullah said it was better for women to stay at home rather than venture out in protection of iron shields.

Tensions between the government and opposition have been on the rise after the recent Panama Leaks controversy put the Nawaz Sharif-led government in pressure. The joint opposition, consisting of the PTI and the PPP, has called on the Prime Minister to step down and present himself before the courts for an impartial investigation.
