Lawyer Imaan Mazari asked the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to provide CCTV footage from a courtroom incident that happened on September 11, 2025, in Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar’s courtroom to support her legal case.
Mazari filed her application with the IHC Registrar. She asked for footage from Courtroom No. 1, recorded between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on September 11. She mentioned that an unfortunate event involving her occurred during this time. Mazari also requested a copy of the footage on a USB drive for her records.
The request follows a tense exchange during a Thursday hearing. Chief Justice Dogar was reviewing a petition by activist Mahrang Baloch to remove her name from the Exit Control List. During the session, Dogar reportedly said Mazari called him a “dictator” and warned her about contempt of court. Mazari replied that she stayed within legal and constitutional limits.

On Friday, Chief Justice Dogar addressed the issue during another case. He said his comments were misunderstood. He views Mazari as “like a daughter” and was only trying to guide her as an elder. Dogar explained he advised her not to make personal remarks, even if she disagreed with his rulings. He denied saying he would arrest her and expressed concern that contempt proceedings could hurt her career.
