The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted 10-day protective bail to YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak (Nani Wala) on Wednesday. Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas approved the bail after the two social media influencers surrendered before the court following their return to Pakistan from London.
The development follows a previous order. On Tuesday, the IHC granted interim protective bail until December 10 based on a petition from their relatives. That order aimed to prevent their arrest upon landing at Islamabad International Airport.
Mian Ali Ashfaq, legal counsel for Rajab Butt, clarified an important point. He stated Butt was not deported from the UK. The YouTuber returned to Pakistan “of his own free will” to face the legal proceedings against him. The protective bail provides a temporary shield from arrest as they engage with the judicial process.

Both individuals face multiple, separate legal challenges:
For Rajab Butt:
- September 2025: Booked by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for allegedly promoting online gambling apps.
- March 2025: Booked under blasphemy and cybercrime laws after launching a perfume brand named “295”, a reference to the blasphemy law in the Pakistan Penal Code, which caused a religious stir.
- December 2024: Arrested for illegally keeping a lion cub and weapons at his residence. He later pleaded guilty to owning an undocumented wild animal in January 2025, avoiding jail by agreeing to post animal rights videos for a year.

For Nadeem Mubarak:
- September 2025: Also booked by the NCCIA for promoting gambling apps on social media.
- September 2025: Arrested for displaying a fake registration number ‘IK-804’ on his car—a number allegedly linked to imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan’s prisoner ID. He could not satisfy the police regarding the fake plate.
The protective bail offers a brief reprieve as they prepare to address these consolidated allegations in court.
