The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted Polish moms custody of children from their ex-Pakistani husband.
Two Polish women married to Sialkot resident Saleem Muhammad petitioned the IHC.
After hearing child custody arguments, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani ordered Saleem Muhammad to give his children to their Polish mothers.
Saleem Muhammad’s ex-wives from Poland were given temporary custody. The judge ordered the citizen to provide the FBI with the children’s passports (FIA).
The petitioner’s lawyer said his client is a Muslim with two Christian ex-wives.
The children’s father told the IHC judge he moved them to Pakistan with their moms’ approval. He added that his relationship with his ex-wife had deteriorated owing to religious convictions, as his wife took his children to church.
The judge wondered why the father didn’t raise his children in Poland. The father stated it’s hard to raise his children Islamically because the nearest mosque is 300 km away.
While asking [Saleem] about his dual nationality, the court noted that it was a felony, to which he stated he is ready to cancel his children’s 10-year-old Polish citizenship but won’t take them to Poland.
Both women refused to meet their ex-husbands when requested.
If the father owned a significant business in Poland, he could build a mosque nearby.
The judge ordered the kids returned to their Polish moms after hearing arguments. The judge ordered the youngsters to be held at the Polish Embassy until tomorrow (Wednesday).
The court temporarily gave the children to the mothers and would decide after hearing arguments.
The father told the court he was still living with his ex-wife. However, he brought his children to Pakistan in August 2021 with both mothers’ permission. He showed the court the permission letter.
The lawyer said the two children were Polish students who had overstayed in Pakistan.
The case hearing was adjourned until tomorrow (Wednesday).
