The Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghullam Hyder Jamali was critical of anti-Rangers advertisements which were printed in newspapers all over the nation.

Appearing before the Senate’s Committee on Interior, the IGP said such advertisements against those fighting terrorists are not appropriate.

The Senate’s Committee on Interior has tasked Shibli Faraz, Shahi Syed and Mukhtar Ajiz Dhamra to probe the matter.

Meanwhile, the committee headed by Additional IG Karachi Mushtaq Mehar to investigate the anti-Rangers advertisements has sought more time to complete its probe.

The committee has written a letter to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah seeking one more week to complete its investigation.

The advertisements in question appeared in local newspapers last week seeking masses support to locate six missing citizens allegedly kidnapped by unknown Rangers personnel.

The advertisements read that the six missing persons had been taken away by unidentified Rangers personnel. The masses were urged in the ads to inform the DSP Orangi Town if they were aware of missing people’s whereabouts.
