In a media briefing at the Islamabad High Court, IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that all arrest procedures were properly followed, including obtaining prior approval from the Speaker before presenting the arrested individuals to the relevant court.
IG Rizvi emphasized the adherence to established protocols during the arrest process. ‘We ensured compliance with legal requirements by securing approval from the Speaker before making any arrests and subsequently presenting the individuals to the court,’ he explained during the briefing.
However, controversy surrounds the speaker’s statements, with claims about discrepancies in his account. Despite respecting Ayaz Sadiq, it has been argued that the circumstances are so severe that his resignation as Speaker is warranted. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of concerted demand for his resignation from the PTI parliamentary party.
