Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq said on Wednesday that if the MQM legislators submit their resignations to him he will accept them after verifying that the decision is their own.
This comes in light of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) decision to resign from the National and Provincial assemblies as well as the Senate in protest against the Karachi Operation.
MQM members of the national and provincial assemblies prepared their resignations on the directives of party chief Altaf Hussain which they have already sent to the party’s parliamentary leaders.
The decision was taken during a meeting last night charied by Altaf Hussain.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad on Wednesday Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that he will ask the MQM members of the national assembly if their resignation is their own decision and after verification he will accept them.
