Shaheen Shah Afridi was nominated for ICC Men’s Player of the Month for his performance in the T20 World Cup.
The left-arm bowler returned after knee surgery and took 11 wickets at 14.09 and 6.15.
Afridi gained rhythm in a must-win match against Bangladesh. The bowler helped the Green Shirts get four wickets and reach the semifinals.
Shaheen took two wickets for 24 runs against New Zealand in the semifinal.
Shaheen got injured in the last game while catching Shadab Khan’s delivery and left in the second-last over. England won their second T20 World Cup over Pakistan.
Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid also joined Shaheen as nominees. England’s Buttler beat India in the semifinals.
England overcame India by 10 wickets thanks to the wicketkeeper’s 80 off 49.
Adil took four wickets in the mega. His tremendous stage performance got him the trophy.
