Pakistan’s authorities have ruled out poisoning in the death of actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali, based on chemical examination reports received on July 18, 2025. Investigators analysed nine samples from her body and found no toxic substances, suggesting a natural cause.
Police submitted the samples to the University of Karachi’s forensic laboratory after discovering her decomposed remains in her Karachi apartment. This development shifts focus to other potential factors in her untimely passing. Humaira, a versatile talent in modelling, acting, and the arts, left behind a legacy of creativity and inspiration.
Police confirmed the absence of poisons in Humaira’s system, indicating her death likely stemmed from natural causes. The forensic team examined samples collected during the post-mortem examination, with results indicating the absence of external toxins. This rules out initial suspicions of foul play, though the investigation continues to determine the exact cause.

Earlier revelations showed Humaira used two computerised national identity cards (CNICs) with altered birthdates, 1983 on the original and 1997 on the tampered version, for professional purposes.
Authorities found Humaira’s decomposed body on July 8, 2025, in her locked fourth-floor apartment in Karachi’s Ittehad Commercial Area, DHA Phase VI. Gizri Police and a court bailiff entered to enforce eviction for unpaid rent since April 2024. Neighbours reported a foul odour, but a vacant adjacent unit delayed detection. Locked doors suggested she died alone, with no signs of forced entry.
The postmortem examination indicated advanced decomposition, which complicated the timeline. Her brother denied any estrangement from the family and demanded transparency in the investigation.
