Details emerged on Friday regarding the numerous legal cases filed against Imran Khan, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), across the country.
A report presented to the Islamabad High Court by the Ministry of Interior revealed that the total number of cases against the PTI founder has reached 188. The breakdown shows that Punjab has filed 99 cases, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has two.
Additionally, Islamabad police report 76 cases against Khan in the federal capital. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) handles seven cases and inquiries, and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigates three cases against him.

Since his removal as prime minister in April 2022, Khan has been the subject of numerous cases amid continuous protests by his party, demanding the “return of their mandate”.
Despite his imprisonment since May 2023, Khan has consistently urged anti-government protests, the most recent being on November 24. This saw supporters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by his wife Bushra Bibi and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, marching towards Islamabad.
The government imposed various restrictions and blocked key access points to prevent PTI protesters from entering Punjab and the federal capital. Nevertheless, the marchers managed to enter Islamabad.
Further cases were registered against Khan and other PTI leaders and workers for allegedly violating restrictions and engaging in violence during last month’s protest.
