Lebanon’s Hezbollah has launched coordinated attacks on Israeli military positions along the Lebanese border. The operations come amidst reports from south Lebanon of the most intense Israeli bombardments observed in the recent weeks of conflict.
In retaliation, the Israeli army executed air raids targeting Hezbollah, coupled with artillery and tank fire. These aggressive responses followed what has been described as the use of a new, potent missile by Hezbollah, striking near Ayta al-Shaab and Rmeich.
Impact and Responses
This marked escalation has seen nearly sixty Hezbollah combatants killed. According to Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, future actions along the Lebanese front will react to developments in Gaza and Israeli conduct. Meanwhile, witnesses and security sources in Lebanon report heavy Israeli bombardment, with Soheil Salami, a resident of Khiyam, capturing video evidence of the strikes.

The Israeli military’s communication indicated the targeting of what they describe as “terrorist infrastructure” in their strikes. Despite the violence, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has signalled a lack of interest in broadening the conflict, cautioning Hezbollah against inciting further Israeli military response.
