Karachi: Wearing helmet would become mandatory for motorcycle riders in the metropolis effective from June 1, DIG Traffic Ameer Sheikh said on Tuesday.
In a statement issued here, Sheikh said strict action would be taken against violators of the traffic rule from June 1. Those travelling along with the rider are also compelled to wear helmets, he added.
The DIG traffic further said that wearing safety helmets would be mandatory for women motorcycle riders as well.
The rule has been made mandatory in accordance with the Motorcycle Safety Ordinance.
