Hashmi may be declared ineligible by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for violation of rules.
According to an ECP notification, the contesting candidates to conclude their election campaign 48 hours before the polling in NA -149 which has ended at midnight Tuesday.
According to sources and Javed Hashmi, a supporter of Hashmi, Azhar Baloch, dropped pamphlets on Wednesday from a rented airplane in favour of Javed Hashmi, who is contesting in by-election.
The pamphlets said for ‘real’ independence vote for Javed Hashmi.
The sources further added that, ECP regional commissioner sent a report about Hashmi’s violation of the rules to the by-election.
The final decision is expected be taken by the ECP on Thursday.
Javed Hashmi may face 7 years of ineligibility or six-months imprisonment.
