Estranged PTI leader Javed Hashmi on Monday challenged Shah Mehmood Qureshi to contest by-election against him from NA-150, if the latter resigned from his constituency.

Addressing a press conference, Hashmi challenged Qureshi to resign and face him in the elections. “Imran is an innocent man, some party leaders used him for their own interests,” he claimed.

He said it would be known soon that “who is ‘Daghi’ in the party”.

He informed that he would submit his nomination papers for by-elections tomorrow.

There is often disagreement in Multan whether who is Makhdoom and who is not, said Hashmi with reference to Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The former PTI leader said the politics of sit-ins was being practiced in the country.

Hashmi said Shireen Mazari was expelled from the party in the past to elevate Qureshi as PTI President. However, she was later accommodated in the party again, he added.
