British boxer Hamzah Sheeraz, of Pakistani origin, secured the Middleweight European Boxing title after defeating Tyler Denny on Saturday.
Sheeraz showcased dominance at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 21. The undefeated middleweight knocked down Denny twice before winning through a technical knockout.
A right cross-left hook combination led to the initial knockdown in the first round. Sheeraz dropped the southpaw once more in the second round with a powerful left hook. Despite Denny standing up again, referee Mark Bates stopped the fight.
The London-based boxer, still undefeated, extended his record to 21-0 with this victory.
Besides taking Denny’s European title, the 25-year-old claimed the Commonwealth and WBC ‘Silver’ titles.
Denny, aged 33, saw his record fall to 19-3-3, ending his six-fight winning streak.
