Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI is now wishlistable on the PlayStation Store, sparking massive excitement after the second trailer’s release. Set for a May 26, 2026, launch, the listing fuels anticipation, though Xbox users await their chance to join the hype.

As reported by IGN, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) became available for wishlist on the PlayStation Store on May 7, 2025, shortly after Rockstar unveiled its second trailer.

The listing, featuring new key art, screenshots, and the official logo, confirms a global launch at 4 AM UTC on May 26, 2026, solidifying the delayed release date, per GameSpot. While pre-orders remain unavailable, the move marks a significant milestone for the long-awaited title, igniting a frenzy among fans on X who celebrated the “tangible” step toward Vice City’s return.

Notably, the game is only listed on PlayStation platforms, with no Xbox Store entry yet, a detail that has sparked debate among fans, per Polygon. Rockstar has not clarified Xbox wishlist plans, leaving Microsoft users in limbo.

Rockstar’s decision to delay pre-orders aligns with past patterns: GTA V opened pre-orders post-second trailer, while Red Dead Redemption 2 waited until after a third, per Kotaku. With over a year until launch, Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive appear focused on building hype, leveraging the trailer’s cinematic Vice City visuals and Fast Five-inspired heist, which amassed millions of views, per Variety. The wishlist launch, a strategic move, keeps GTA VI a cultural juggernaut since GTA V’s 2013 debut at the forefront of gaming discourse.
