Govt reduces prices of petroleum products

The government earlier yesterday issued an official notification regarding cut in petroleum prices.

According to the announcement, the new price for Petrol to be effective from February, 01, would be Rs 71.25 and the price of High Speed Diesel would be Rs 75.79 per liter.

Similarly, High Octane price would be Rs 75.66 per liter while that of Kerosene Oil and Light Diesel Oil would be Rs 43.25 and Rs 39.94 per liter respectively for the month of February.

In a statement on Saturday, the Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar said that decrease of Rs.5 per liter had been approved by the Prime Minister in the price of each product.

He said that in percentage terms the decrease is from 6.2 percent for High Speed Diesel and HOBC to 11.1 percent for Light Diesel Oil.

The Minister also stated the Government had throughout been passing on benefit of decrease in oil prices in the international market to consumers in the country.(APP)
