Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar Thursday said the stance of PML-N was very clear on Karachi operation as it will not compromise over principles.
All the legal demands of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would be addressed, the minister said talking to a news channel. He said that all political parties including MQM should play their role in the Parliament for national interest as people have given them mandate.
He said MQM should play its constructive role in the Parliament as it has played for National Action Plan (NAP), recent Constitutional Amendments and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Replying to a question, Dar said government has not any plan to end operation and it will continue till achievement of all the set targets.
He said the operation in Karachi was started on the demand of MQM with the consensus of all the political parties which was being conducted without any discrimination.
He said the dialogue was the better way to move forward, adding, the government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) had resolved PTI’s resignation issue through dialogue and the same would be done over the issue of MQM’s resignations.
He said the government has assigned the responsibility to Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for having talks with MQM who was coordinating in this regard.
The minister said Speaker National Assembly Ayyaz Sadiq was working independently under the constitution and would follow the legal process over the resignations of MQM’s members.
He said the country was facing different challenges including security and energy issues, adding the law enforcement agencies were fighting against terrorism and achieved many successes. (APP)
