Authorities have banned aerial coverage of public gatherings in Lahore citing security reasons.

Fearing misuse of aerial devices for terrorism activities, officials warned that the flying equipment could be shot down if the orders violated.

According to instructions issued by district administration, national and foreign media houses are not authorized to use their ‘heli-cameras’ to cover political public gatherings banned under Section-144 in Lahore.

Sources said the Federal Interior Ministry has also issued directives to district administration to ensure enforcement of the ban.
