The federal government has finally agreed to hire services of an international forensic audit of offshore companies being owned by Pakistanis.

According to a reliable source, judicial commission will be fully empowered to hire any international audit firm for probe into money trail of offshore companies.

The government, source adds, will make payment for the services of forensic company.

Reacting to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcement about the formation of a judicial commission yesterday, opposition parties, including PPP and PTI, called for a forensic audit of Panama papers, which has put spotlight on offshore firms of Sharif family and scores of other Pakistanis.

In his announcement, Prime Minister Sharif said that he would go home if found guilty by the commission
