Virat Kohli and Cristiano Ronaldo are Highlighted in Google’s Most Searched List. On its 25th anniversary, Google has unveiled its list of the most searched topics, featuring prominent sports figures like former India cricket captain Virat Kohli and Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo. These two athletes, renowned globally in their respective sports, have captured the public’s attention, becoming dominant figures in Google’s extensive search history.

Cristiano Ronaldo

After his notable move from Manchester United to Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been a dominant force in the Saudi Pro League. In 2023, he achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 50th goal of the season during Al-Nassr’s victory over Al Shabab in the Saudi King Cup. This goal, a testament to his consistent performance, was marked by his exceptional scoring rate, averaging nearly a goal per game since his move after the FIFA World Cup 2022. Ronaldo’s prowess also extends to his national team, with an impressive 10 goals for Portugal in just nine matches this year.

Virat Kohli

Kohli, a cricket icon and an admirer of Ronaldo, played a pivotal role in leading India to the ICC World Cup 2023 final under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. The cricketing superstar broke several records during the tournament, including surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 centuries and emerging as the leading run-scorer with 765 runs. Despite India’s near-perfect campaign and Kohli’s record-breaking century against New Zealand in the semi-finals, the team faced defeat against Australia in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

In its celebratory post, Google hinted at the potential for future change and evolution, acknowledging these most searched moments as significant markers of our times. As the most searched athlete, Ronaldo’s popularity is paralleled by Kohli’s status as the most searched cricketer of the year, highlighting their immense influence and impact on sports fans globally.
