Google Workspace Gemini features are expanding across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive as Google pushes AI deeper into its productivity apps. The update builds on Gemini’s growing ability to use context from Workspace tools and the web to help users draft content, organise information, and speed up everyday tasks.
In Google Docs, Gemini can already help users write, rewrite, and organise content. Google has also highlighted broader efforts to make AI assistance in Workspace more context-aware, so users can create content that better reflects information already stored across their apps.
Google Sheets continues to get some of the company’s biggest AI productivity upgrades. Google has said Gemini in Sheets can help users analyse data faster, identify patterns, and generate visualisations, showing how the app is moving beyond basic formulas toward more advanced AI assistance.
New Gemini features are rolling out today in Google Workspace for Gemini Alpha customers and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Google Slides is also part of the wider Gemini push inside Workspace. Google says Gemini can help create and refine presentation content, while future tools are aimed at making slide creation faster and more closely tied to a user’s existing files and workflow.
Google Workspace Gemini Features Reach More Apps
Google Drive is becoming more central to this experience as Gemini gains stronger access to files and connected Workspace content. Google has already announced that Gemini can draw context from apps such as Gmail and Drive, and recent updates show the company expanding that cross-app intelligence even further.

This broader rollout reflects Google’s shift from simple chatbot-style prompts to AI tools that work inside the user’s own ecosystem. Rather than simply answering isolated questions, Gemini increasingly serves as a personalised assistant across documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email, and stored files
Google has also tied Gemini access to paid plans and premium Workspace experiences. Earlier official announcements linked advanced Gemini capabilities to subscription tiers, and Google continues to position these tools as part of its higher-end AI offering.
