Gold prices in Pakistan plummeted by Rs5,400 on Thursday, mirroring the global market’s reaction to Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price for a tola of 24-karat gold dropped to Rs276,800.
Similarly, the cost for 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs4,630, settling at Rs237,311.
Globally, gold prices also significantly declined, dropping $65 to close at $2,662 per ounce, with an additional premium of $20.
Local silver prices followed suit, decreasing by Rs130 to reach Rs3,300 per tola.
