Former aviation minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan declared his shift to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Tuesday.
The announcement came after his discussions with the top brass of the IPP. Notable figures, including IPP chairman Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan, and Awn Chaudhry, attended the significant meeting.
Previous Resignation and Condemnation
Earlier in the year, Ghulam Sarwar Khan had publicized his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to the controversial May 9 protests. In a recorded statement, he criticized the violence of May 9, emphasizing that those who targeted the GHQ, Jinnah House, and military memorials should face the consequences. Khan expressed, “I condemn individuals engaged in confrontation with state institutions.” He further highlighted his consistent stance against the aggressive policy within the PTI.
In a related development, former federal minister Farrukh Habib also made headlines by announcing his move from PTI to Jahangir Tareen’s Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
