Geo News faced criticism after referring to Richard Grenell, a former U.S. ambassador and political figure, as homosexual, leading to significant backlash on social media from supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In response, Grenell shared a screenshot of Geo’s coverage and expressed his opinions.

Grenell shared the screenshot on social media, reinforcing his demand for Imran Khan’s release while connecting it to his political advocacy.

Additionally, an article from Jang newspaper featured the headline “Homosexual Richard Grenell appointed as Trump’s special envoy,” which brought attention to his previous roles and controversies.

The article detailed Grenell’s tenure as the U.S. ambassador to Germany under President Donald Trump. It highlighted various contentious aspects of his public and professional life, including his outspoken social media presence and disputes with political figures. It also mentioned the conservative backlash to his appointment based on his sexual orientation.
