Canadian authorities made a fourth arrest related to the assassination of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
On Saturday, 22-year-old Amardeep Singh, who resides in the Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford areas, was formally charged with conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder.
Amardeep Singh was taken into custody by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) in Ottawa, Canada, on May 11. Before this arrest, he was already held on unrelated firearms charges, as confirmed by an official statement.
Superintendent Mandeep Mooker of IHIT emphasized the importance of the arrest. “This arrest demonstrates our commitment to pursuing those involved in Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s homicide,” he stated.
On June 18, 2023, Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent member of the Canadian chapter, was shot dead outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia.

On May 3, IHIT apprehended three other suspects—22-year-old Karan Brar and Kamalpreet Singh and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh, like Amardeep Singh; these suspects all reside in Edmonton and are of Indian nationality.
