Former Chief Minister Abdul Qudous Bizenjo and several key political figures from Balochistan have made a significant political shift by joining the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
The move was confirmed during a meeting with PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore. The assembly saw the inclusion of former Balochistan minister Sikandar Imrani, Syed Nizamuddin, Syed Hameed, Naseer Ahmed Bizenjo, and Mir Abdul Wahab Bizenjo into the PPP folds. Additionally, the sons of another former Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Nasir Mengal—Mir Hamoodur Rahman and Mir Shafiqur Rahman—also pledged allegiance to the PPP.
Political Dynamics Shift in Balochistan
This development comes on the heels of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif garnering support from influential Balochistan personalities, including former chief minister Jam Kamal, last month.
The trend of prominent figures joining larger parties like the PPP and PML-N, such as Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and others, indicates a significant realignment in Balochistan’s political landscape, signalling change dynamics and new coalitions in the region’s politics.
