Zainab Jamil, a former actor and model, sustained serious injuries following a gun attack by masked attackers in Lahore’s DHA Phase IV.
Zainab was targeted when she was en route to her salon on Wednesday. Jamil, known for her role in the drama “Khuda Aur Muhabbat,” sustained injuries from six bullets after two motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire on her vehicle.
The attackers managed to escape the scene. Jamil was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but survived the assassination attempt. Upon regaining consciousness, she reported receiving prior murder threats, including a threatening letter sent to her salon.
Zainab Jamil stated she did not recognize the attackers but believed the assault was premeditated, noting the attackers appeared well-prepared. Following her complaint, Lahore Police initiated an investigation against two unidentified men, recovering a pistol and a motorcycle near the crime scene. Authorities are using Safe City cameras to trace the culprits, anticipating arrests soon.

In addition to her prominent role in “Khuda Aur Muhabbat,” Zainab Jamil has appeared in various other television projects, including Aap ki Kaneez, “Sasural Meri Behen Ka,” “Mannchali.”
In December 2020, Jamil left the entertainment industry to focus on following Islamic teachings and deepen her understanding of Islam.
