Flour prices climbed again across Pakistan, intensifying pressure on households already strained by inflation.
In Islamabad, flour prices rose by Rs 10 per kilogram. In Lahore, a 15-kilogram bag increased by Rs50, taking the retail price to Rs1,800.
In Peshawar, a 20-kilogram bag of mixed flour now sells for Rs2,900, while fine flour costs Rs3,000. Prices have crossed Rs 3,000 per 20-kilogram bag in Mardan.

The sharpest rise was reported in Quetta, where a 50-kilogram bag became Rs1,000 more expensive. Dealers said prices have jumped by Rs2,000 over the past month alone.
Market participants attribute the increases to ongoing wheat shortages and supply disruptions. Procurement delays and stock management issues have tightened availability in several regions, pushing retail prices higher.
The renewed surge has heightened public frustration, especially among low- and middle-income families for whom flour is a daily staple. Authorities have yet to announce concrete steps to stabilise prices or ensure adequate wheat supplies nationwide.
