Major General Rizwan Akhtar, Director General Sindh Rangers, said on Monday that flight operations from Karachi airport may be resumed from today, afternoon.
Briefing media after hours-long operation to clear Karachi airport following a brazen midnight attack, Akhtar said that the airport has been clear but we have told Civil Aviation Authority that they may only resume flight operations from afternoon as a precautionary measure.
He said that terrorists appear to be Uzbeks, adding they will carry out DNA tests to confirm their identity.
Major General Akhtar said four personnel each of Sindh Rangers and Sindh Police are injured while eight personnel of the Airport Security Force are still in critical condition.
He said a total of 10 terrorists attacked the airport of which seven were killed in the operation while three terrorists blew themselves up.
