The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has confirmed that 24 fatalities occurred during recent torrential rains and flash floods in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) over the last three days.
The severe weather has caused extensive property damage throughout the region.
The casualties included six men, six women, and 12 children, with 17 others injured. Affected individuals comprised eight men, three women, and six children.
The incidents impacted multiple districts, including Kohat, Bajaur, Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swat, Charsadda, Swabi, Mohmand, South Waziristan, and Hangu.
According to the PDMA, 150 homes have been impacted, with 77 partially damaged and 73 destroyed.
The severe conditions have disrupted normal life, leading to the deployment of machinery to clear blocked roads and aid relief efforts. Travel to tourist destinations is currently not advised.
The PDMA, other agencies, and district administrations closely monitor developments to coordinate response efforts.
