In Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority, an armed clash between two factions of the Bugti family resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals, with two more injured on Thursday night.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, the confrontation, involving groups led by Fahad Bugti and Ali Haider Bugti in Khayaban-e-Nishat, stems from a longstanding feud.
The casualties, all relatives of the late Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, included three members from one group and two from the opposing side. Police and rescue teams quickly responded, transporting the deceased and injured to Civil Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Mir Esa Bugti, Ali, Fahad, Naseebullah, and Mir Mesum Bugti, with Mir Ali Haider Bugti and Qaim Ali reported injured.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has responded to the incident by requesting a comprehensive report from the Additional IGP Karachi.
In a statement, Lanjar emphasized that the conflict arose from personal enmity within the same tribe. He reassured that no one is exempt from the law and affirmed that steps would be taken to uphold legal authority.
