On August 8, 2025, Pakistani security forces killed 33 terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij during an attempted infiltration across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan’s Zhob District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.
The operation took place on the night of August 7-8 in the Sambaza area, successfully preventing a large-scale attack and recovering a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that security forces detected the movement of terrorists and engaged them with precision, resulting in the elimination of all 33 Khawarij. A sanitisation operation is currently in progress to eliminate any remaining threats. The military’s media wing emphasised, “Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in defending the nation’s frontiers and eradicating terrorism sponsored by India.”

This operation follows an incident on June 3, 2025, in which seven Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists were killed during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Machh and Kalat, Balochistan, according to ARY News. The ongoing targeting of Indian-backed groups highlights Pakistan’s increased efforts to combat cross-border terrorism, especially in unstable regions like Balochistan.
The successful operation highlights Pakistan’s vigilance against external threats and its commitment to border security. The recovery of weapons suggests a planned attack, making the thwarting of this infiltration critical. Analysts view this as a blow to Fitna al-Khawarij’s operations, potentially disrupting their regional network.
