A female passenger was killed and two flight stewards injured when a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane was fired at the Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar.
PIA flight PK-756 arriving from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was approaching for landing when armed men opened fire. There were 178 passengers on board the plane which was also damaged in the attack.
A PIA official said a female passenger and two flight stewards were injured in the firing incident and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The female passenger succumbed to her injuries later.
According to officials a search operation has been started in areas surrounding the airport following the attack.
