Fire broke out at a local factory in Karachi’s SITE area today morning.
According to reports, a large section of the building was damaged by the fire, which is yet to be extinguished. No casualties have been reported as yet.
Rescue workers and fire fighters arrived at the site and started efforts to extinguish the fire. At least five fire tenders were called to put out the fire which could not be brought under control until the filing of this report.
In March, several workers fell unconscious while goods worth millions of rupees were gutted when a fire broke out in the basement of a private paint-manufacturing factory in Karachi’s SITE area.
At least four workers who fainted due to heavy plumes of smoke were rushed to a nearby medical facility. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties.
When the fire broke out, factory workers tried to extinguish it on their own but it spread quickly because of the presence of chemical containers inside the building, sources revealed.
