The minister outlined plans to enhance tax revenue, including refining FBR governance, thoroughly documenting the economy, and implementing full-scale digitization.

A key strategy under consideration is to expand the tax base to include sectors such as wholesale/retail, real estate, and agriculture. Minister Aurangzeb advocated for digitization not just as a goal but as a crucial step towards modernizing tax administration and fostering a transparent, equitable tax system that supports economic growth and benefits all citizens.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to prioritize the welfare of the Pakistani people. Minister Aurangzeb commended the FBR team’s dedication and assured the government’s unwavering support in enacting these significant changes. This visit signifies the government’s commitment to enhancing fiscal governance and promoting economic prosperity in Pakistan.
