Karachi: Around 200 suspects, including some wanted criminals, were nabbed by police and Rangers on Thursday and Friday in a final round of operation in Karachi where 43 people were killed in Wednesday’s terrorist attack.
According to reports, police and Rangers separately conducted raids in and arrested 56 suspects from Khameeso Goth of New Karachi, 19 from Madina Colony of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, 24 from Essa Nagri and 35 from Zaman Town of Korangi.
The law-enforcers also arrested more suspects from other areas and recovered arms from many of them.
Officials said an alleged target killer of 19 people, identified as Alam Zaib alias Abid Ganja, was also collared.
All the suspects have been shifted to undisclosed locations for interrogations.
On Thursday evening, the Rangers detained 22 people including Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) unit in-charge and joint unit in-charge from Sindhi Hotel, Liaquatabad area of the metropolis.
However, the MQM contradicted the Rangers claim saying none of their workers were captured in the recent crackdown by the paratroopers.
