PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the party will ask National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf for time to verify MNAs’ resignations.

Fawad tweeted that a letter was sent to the speaker requesting a new date for resignation verification. He stated that they need time for verification so new elections can be held.

The former information minister said the Supreme Court said PTI MNAs weren’t attending but were getting paid.

“Judges should check media reporting. Another government falsehood. Fawad stated no resigned member is receiving payment.

Fawad’s remark comes after Supreme Court Justice Mansoor Ali Shah noted that PTI legislators were collecting salaries while not attending the National Assembly.

He noted that the Islamabad High Court ordered PTI lawmakers to appear before the NA speaker.
