Fatima Bhutto, the granddaughter of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, married Graham (Gibran) in an intimate nikah ceremony at her family home, 70 Clifton, in Karachi.
The ceremony was held in Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s library, one of Fatima’s favorite places, and was revealed by her brother, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior, on Instagram and Twitter.
During the wedding, Fatima’s brother Zulfikar tied the imam zamin, a traditional cloth belonging to their grandmother Nusrat Bhutto, around Fatima. The couple was surrounded by family photos, including images of Fatima’s aunts, uncle, and father and an original People’s Party flag placed by her grandfather.
Fatima shared her thoughts on Twitter, mentioning that she’s not a fan of opulent weddings, especially considering many people’s struggles today. She decided to have a small and intimate ceremony, feeling her late father’s presence throughout. Fatima added a picture of her relatives accompanying her to the nikah under a dupatta, expressing how she felt her father’s love and presence in her heart.
Fatima thanked everyone for their well-wishes and asked for their prayers as she embarked on this new journey with her husband, Graham. The couple has no plans for any additional ceremonies.
