An alleged gangster linked to the Lahore underworld, Faizan Boxer, was killed in an alleged encounter with the Punjab Crime Control Department (CCD), police said on Friday.
According to officials, the incident took place in Lahore’s Ichhra area. A CCD Kotwali team was escorting Faizan Boxer to Sheikhupura for identification. During the transfer, his alleged accomplices opened fire in an attempt to free him.
Police said a gunfight followed between the attackers and the CCD team. During the exchange, Faizan Boxer was reportedly hit by bullets fired by his own associates. Authorities confirmed that no CCD personnel sustained injuries in the incident.
Officials said the suspect was wanted in multiple criminal cases, including murder, robbery, and armed assault. Police added that investigations are continuing to identify and arrest those involved in the attack on the escorting team.

The incident follows a similar case earlier this year. On October 11, 2025, Khawaja Tareef Gulshan, also known as Teefi Butt, the prime suspect in the Ameer Balaj murder case, was killed in an alleged encounter with the CCD in Punjab.
Police said Teefi Butt had been extradited from Dubai a day earlier. He was being transported by road to the CCD headquarters in Lahore when his accomplices allegedly attacked the police convoy near Kot Sabzal in Rahim Yar Khan district. He was reportedly killed during the exchange of fire. Police said the firing also came from his own associates.
Teefi Butt was nominated, along with Khawaja Aqeel and others, in the FIR registered over the targeted killing of Ameer Balaj near Thokar Niaz Beg, Lahore, on February 19, 2024. After the murder, he fled abroad and was later declared a proclaimed offender.
In 2024, Punjab Police approached the Ministry of Interior to initiate extradition proceedings. Following approval, Interpol red notices were issued, leading to his arrest and repatriation.
Police said Teefi Butt was brought to Karachi via a private airline. He was later transferred to Lahore, where he was handed over to a Joint Investigation Team probing the case. Authorities maintain that both incidents occurred during lawful operations. Further legal proceedings remain underway.
