Senator Faisal Vawda claimed on a national television program that former spy chief Faiz Hamid plans to testify against PTI founder Imran Khan. Vawda said this testimony would intensify Khan’s ongoing legal troubles.
Faisal Vawda, on Geo News’ “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath,” claimed that Hamid would present concrete evidence against the incarcerated former prime minister. This development follows Hamid’s own 14-year sentence by a military court. The Field General Court Martial convicted him earlier on Thursday. The charges included political activities and violating the Official Secrets Act.
Vawda insisted Imran Khan is firmly “caught in the legal squeeze.” He linked this specifically to the cases stemming from the May 9, 2023, riots. The senator warned that this legal process would now intensify significantly. “The grip of the law will not stop here,” Vawda remarked.

He also commented on Hamid’s 14-year sentence of rigorous imprisonment. Vawda stated this sentence “will not be reduced” under any circumstances. The senator further assigned responsibility for the May 9 events. He alleged that providing details of military installations was “Faiz Hamid’s responsibility.”
“Once the matter is clear, the first number is that of PTI and its founder,” Vawda stated. He also discussed the role of former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa. Vawda said Bajwa initially showed “negligence and incompetence”. He later attempted to remove Hamid after realising the implications.
However, Vawda noted Bajwa has been deemed “exonerated” officially. This means no legal action will proceed against the former army chief. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also spoke on the same program. He alleged the May 9 events were a “joint plan” involving Hamid and Imran Khan.
