Army Chief of Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Gwadar and interacted with important citizens, elected leaders, and people from diverse backgrounds.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS was briefed on the present security situation, the operational readiness of formations, the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and measures to establish a calm and secure environment.

General Munir thanked everyone for their efforts during his visit and asked them to maintain their professional dedication to the Baloch people.

During their talk, the army chief emphasized that a few misguided individuals could not compromise their will to maintain peace and prosperity on behalf of the Baloch people and the military.

The COAS highlighted the region’s socioeconomic development and announced welfare initiatives encompassing education, solar system installation, fisheries, water, health, sports, and livelihood.

The chief minister of Balochistan, Quddus Bizenjo and the commander of the Quetta Corps were also present at the occasion.

In January, the COAS highlighted the importance of “maintaining optimum operational preparedness” to prevent attempts by hostile elements to destabilize the calm in Balochistan.

According to the ISPR, he made these remarks while visiting Balochistan’s Khuzdar and Basim regions.

The ISPR reports that the COAS was briefed on the present security situation, the operational readiness of the formation, and the measures being taken to guarantee a secure environment.
