When you hear the name Natwarlal and close your eyes, the only face you think of is Amitabh Bachchan in his evergreen entertainer Mr Natwarlal.
The director of Emraan Hashmi-starrer Raja Natwarlal, Kunal Deshmukh said that India’s greatest conman was a man called Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava from Bihar. He was the original Natwarlal.”
He started off by doing cheque and bank frauds, but went on to selling the Taj Mahal of India and the Indian Parliament, that too, with people in it. He has been to jail nine times, but escaped eight times. He was arrested for the ninth time in 1996, when he was 84 years old, but managed to again escape while being transported from the jail to the hospital. That was the last time he was seen. He had over 100 cases pending against him and it is only in 2009 that his brother finally informed the courts that he had died.”
The film Raja Natwarlal is a revenge con drama, where Emraan will be seen playing a street conman who learns the long con and becomes Raja Natwarlal.
