Russian military operations persist, prompting Kyiv’s strategic retreats. Russia has taken full control of Avdiivka, a Ukrainian town. Elon Musk, X’s CEO, weighed in on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, suggesting Moscow benefits as the conflict prolongs.
On Saturday, Russia announced its capture of Avdiivka, a key Ukrainian city. Reflecting on X discussions about Ukraine’s losses, Musk remarked on Russia’s advantage with the conflict’s duration.
The Russian Defence Ministry and President Vladimir Putin declared the operation in Avdiivka a victory. Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu noted efforts to quash resistance at Avdiivka’s Coke and Chemical Plant.
At the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Zelensky highlighted the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka, pointing out the need for more weapons. He urged Western nations for more military aid, hopeful for the US Congress’s support.

This follows Bakhmut’s capture by Russia in May last year.
Additionally, Musk addressed rumours about Starlink services being provided to Russia. He denied sales of Starlink terminals to Russia on X, and when asked about Starlink’s operations in Russia, he denied Russian forces access to the technology.
