Karachi/Lahore: Election campaign for second phase of Local Bodies polls in Punjab and Sindh ended at midnight on Tuesday.

The candidates spent the last day of electioneering making last ditch efforts to drum up support by contacting voters through door-to-door campaigns, corner meetings and rallies.

The balloting will be held on Thursday.

In Punjab, polling will be held in twelve districts including Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mianwali, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sheikhupura and Khanewal.

On the other hand, people of fourteen districts in Sindh will elect their local representatives on November 19. These include Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nausharoferoz, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot and Tharparkhar.

The polling in Sanghar has been postponed due to security reasons.

A total of over twenty million voters will exercise their right of franchise in the two provinces.
