Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 celebrations across Pakistan began Saturday morning as millions of faithful gathered at mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds to offer prayers with religious zeal and fervour.
Across the country, congregations brought together families and communities to mark the end of Ramadan. In their sermons, religious scholars highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr, reminding worshippers of the values of gratitude, charity, and unity. Special prayers are offered for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Authorities implemented comprehensive security and traffic plans nationwide to ensure peaceful celebrations. Islamabad Police enforced an integrated security framework, and Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi pledged to maintain peace in the federal capital at all costs.
In Islamabad, worshippers gathered for the main Eid congregation at Faisal Mosque, one of the country’s largest and most iconic prayer venues.
Punjab Police rolled out a detailed security plan for the province, with a particular focus on Lahore, where more than 9,000 officers and personnel ensured security at Eid congregations and managed traffic.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police also finalised a comprehensive security and traffic plan. In Peshawar, over 5,500 police personnel handled security and traffic duties, according to the Capital City Police Officer.
In Quetta, worshippers attended roughly 200 Eid congregations at open spaces, parks, mosques, Imambargahs, and Eidgahs, with the main gathering held at Eidgah Toghi Road, a central site for the city’s Eid observances.
As families exchanged greetings and children enjoyed the festive spirit, the nationwide security presence ensured that worshippers could observe their prayers without disruption. Authorities across all provinces coordinated efforts to balance public safety with the free movement of citizens during the holiday.
