Edward Sonnenblick, who played Edward in RRR, reacts to the film’s success at the 2023 Golden Globes.
Sonnenblick said in an interview that he was excited to see Hollywood and the globe embrace Indian cinema. RRR isn’t a crossover film attempting to be labeled “international” or anything. Instead, foreign critics and fans love it because it’s mainstream Indian and supersized.”
RRR is so fresh and exciting to them because Hollywood films have become jaded and lost magic that Indian cinema hasn’t forgotten. Edward stated RRR was needed to shake things up.
The actor was also quizzed about RRR’s Oscars 2023 hopes. “There’s so much talk; it feels certain that RRR will get Oscar nominations,” he said.
